Labour’s councillors for Hoe Street ward in Waltham Forest – Cllr Ahsan Khan, Cllr Saima Mahmud and Cllr Mark Rusling
We were elected to represent Hoe Street ward on Waltham Forest council in the elections on 6th May 2010. You can view the results for Hoe Street here. We are working hard on your behalf, and are happy to help you with any issues – our telephone numbers and email addresses are on this website. You can also check our progress against our manifesto pledges and can keep up to date with our work through following the news section.
Waltham Forest is a Labour-controlled borough. Saima is the Cabinet Member for Housing and Development. Mark and Ahsan are both Junior Cabinet Members – Mark for Employment and Child Poverty, and Ahsan for Environment and Climate Change.
These are difficult times - the regressive cuts announced by the Conservative-Lib Dem government will hit the poorest and most vulnerable much harder than they will hit the rich. We will have to find over £65 million of savings in the next four years. For our reaction to the government’s August emergency budget, click here. We hold surgeries every Saturday, from 11am until 12pm, at the Waltham Forest Direct shop on the corner of Hoe Street and Church Hill. You don’t need an appointment to attend these sessions, and we are also happy to arrange meetings at other times. Get in touch – we look forward to hearing from you!

Mark, Saima and Ahsan with Council Leader Cllr Chris Robbins
