The local police are holding two crime prevention stalls this Sunday – from 11am until 12.30pm on Church Hill Road and from 1pm until 2.30pm on Eden Road. Do join them for crime prevention advice.
The local Safer Neighbourhoods Team have been undertaking increased patrols recently to detect and deter burglars. This has had an excellent effect. In December 2011, there were 25 burglaries reported. Last month, this had reduced to 7.
The new security doors installed at Attlee Terrace have also reduced the problems that residents experienced with youths causing anti-social behaviour in the estate.
If you would like to speak to the Safer Neighbourhoods Team, call 020 8721 2642.

Yesterday, we visited the Decent Homes works at Albert Whicher House on Church Hill Road and in the blocks between Church Hill Road and Prospect Hill. We were taken around by Madeleine Forster, Chief Executive of Ascham Homes, which gave us a chance to meet residents and to sort out some problems. The works are progressing well and should be completed on time. If residents of these blocks have any questions about the works, do get in touch.

This afternoon we have spoken to around 100 residents on Church Lane, Alander Mews, Bishops Close, Bremer Mews, Leyburn Close, Church Hill Road, Church Lane, Vestry Road, Summit Road, Church End and Church Path. By talking directly to residents, rather than just sticking a leaflet through your door, we make sure that our ideas and policies have broad support and reflect what reisdents really want.
We’ve been talking about crime, dangerous dogs, the renovated Walthamstow School for Girls, parking and the zero council tax increase announced by the Labour Council this week. If there are other things we should be doing, let us know!
