February 27th, 2011 by Mark Rusling

The first Hoe Street Ward Forum will be held on Monday 21 March, from 7.30pm until 9pm, at St Stephen’s Church on Copeland Road. This will be an opportunity for residents to meet their councillors, and each other, and to discuss ways in which we can work together to make Hoe Street a better place to live. Below is the agenda – get in touch if you have any questions.

7.30pm – 7.40pm  Welcome and introductions.

7.40pm – 8.10pm  Gordon Glenday, Head of Spatial Planning, on the council’s plan for Walthamstow Town Centre, how you can feed into this, and how community groups can make use of the new ‘community right to buy’ buildings and assets.

8.10pm – 8.25pm  Enrique Saenz, Chief Executive of Voluntary Action Waltham Forest, on the voluntary sector in the ward and borough.

8.25pm – 8.40pm  Update from the local police Safer Neighbourhood Team.

8.40pm – 9.00pm  Councillors Den – Saima, Ahsan and I become the dragons, and residents have 30 seconds to present their ideas on how we can improve the ward. We’ll take the best ideas forward with the council.

9.00pm  End

First Hoe Street Ward Forum – 21 March

February 20th, 2011 by Mark Rusling

The first Hoe Street Ward Forum will be held on 21 March from 7.30pm until 9pm at St Stephen’s Church on Copeland Road. We’d love to see as many Hoe Street residents there as possible, so do come along and let your friends and neighbours know of the meeting. We will be available to meet residents individually from 7pm until 7.30pm.

There will be an opportunity to hear about what is going on in the ward – from the council and from community groups. The local police Safer Neighbourhood Team will tell residents of their work in the ward and of ways in which you can get involved to make the ward safer. We will also be holding a “Councillors’ Den” in which Saima, Ahsan and I will hear residents’ suggestions of ways to improve Hoe Street ward. We will take the best suggestions forward and will try to put them into action.

We hope to see you on 21 March – do get in touch if you have any questions.
